ONDA is a contouring device, not a weight-loss treatment. How microwave energy targets fat, and why it belongs at the finishing stage.

Hello. This is Dr. Lee Yumin of MeSOnBom Clinic.
Many people losing weight consider a lifting treatment for stubborn local areas that diet and exercise do not shift — a double chin, the upper arms, the abdomen.
Since it became known that ONDA acts on fat cells, it is often misunderstood as an easy way to lose weight without effort.
To correct that clearly at the outset: ONDA Lifting is not an obesity treatment device that dramatically reduces body weight.
It is a contouring device that reshapes the body and facial line after weight loss and restores skin firmness.
So today I want to explain what makes ONDA technically distinctive, and why it should be approached as support and maintenance rather than a substitute for dieting.
What most distinguishes ONDA is that it uses microwave energy rather than the radiofrequency (RF) or ultrasound (HIFU) energy of other devices.
Selective targeting: energy is not greatly lost in the epidermis, but passes directly and intensively into the deeper dermis and subcutaneous fat layer that are the target.
Inducing thermal breakdown of fat cells: 2.45GHz microwave energy is absorbed more readily by fat tissue than by water. Delivered deep, it heats subcutaneous fat cells to around 45–60°C, raising cellular metabolism and ultimately promoting the breakdown of fat cells. This is why it is useful for refining localised areas.
ONDA's functional characteristics can be summarised in three actions.
ONDA does not simply shave away fat; its strength lies in restoring definition and shaping the line where firmness has been lost.
You will therefore get the most satisfaction using it in the following situations.
A diet plateau and refining the line: where diet and exercise have reduced weight but a double chin or loose tissue remains, it works well to sharpen the line.
Non-invasive, comfortable care: without incision or anaesthesia, treatment is short and the burden of pain is small. It suits busy people who want to continue care without disrupting their routine.
Tightening before an important occasion: recovery is quick, so it is a positive option for those wanting to smooth the line before an important outing or photoshoot.
High expectations bring disappointment, so please remember the following limits.
Basic habits come first. As emphasised above, this is not a starting point for obesity treatment aimed at reducing a particular area at once. It gives satisfying results used as a finishing stage, softly refining the last remaining fat for those who have already managed their weight through diet and exercise. Without healthy habits behind it, the result is unlikely to last.
Do not overdo it — the intensity must be set individually. Applying energy for excessively long periods or at too high an intensity for quick results can go beyond temporary heat to cause burns or blistering. Skin thickness and fat volume differ from person to person, so the intensity must be set through full consultation with a specialist.
Respect the skin's recovery cycle. Repeating treatment at intervals that are too short in the hope of faster results is not advisable. Planning with a comfortable interval (usually three to four weeks or more), allowing tissue to recover from thermal stimulation and new collagen to form, is far more stable and effective.
ONDA should be approached not as a magic device for losing weight but as a booster laid on top of consistent care, slowing ageing and sagging.
Its real value is in reducing the volume of fat while raising skin firmness, restoring definition overall.
Rather than relying on a passing trend or excessive expectations, I recommend using it as part of a long view of keeping your skin and body healthy and firm.
Approached with the right understanding, it will be a dependable support in recovering the line you have lost.
