Microneedle RF delivers energy to the dermis while sparing the epidermis. How the different tips address pores, scars, fine lines and redness.

Hello. This is Dr. Lee Yumin of MeSOnBom Clinic.
"My pores keep widening and my skin is losing firmness as I get older — which treatment should I have?"
"I have more than one concern. Do I have to have a separate treatment for each?"
In consultation, almost nobody has only a single skin concern.
People want to improve enlarged pores, fine lines and uneven texture together, but hesitate because of the discomfort of treatment or a long recovery.
Potenza is the device for those who want to address several concerns efficiently and with less discomfort.
It uses microneedle radiofrequency (RF) technology with dedicated tips to induce collagen regeneration in the dermis and deliver precise improvement.
In this piece I want to look at its core principle, the characteristics of each tip, and who it suits.
Potenza passes microneedles from the surface into the dermis and delivers radiofrequency energy, inducing the skin's own collagen regeneration.
It rebuilds the skin's structure by delivering thermal energy directly to the dermis while reducing damage to the surface.
Collagen remodelling: RF energy delivered to the dermis stimulates fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin.
Tailored modes: rather than a single form of energy, invasive (needle) and non-invasive (monopolar/bipolar) modes are selected and applied precisely according to skin thickness and condition.
Protecting the epidermis: energy is applied only at the moment the needles enter, minimising surface damage and shortening recovery.
Potenza has more than ten dedicated tips, combined according to the treatment aim — pores, scars, wrinkles or skin booster delivery.
Pumping tip: uses negative pressure to deliver solutions (such as Juvelook or PDRN) evenly into the dermis. For reducing the discomfort of skin boosters, maximising their effect, and deep depressions.
Invasive tip: microneedle RF promotes dermal regeneration and collagen contraction. For enlarged pores, acne scars and uneven texture.
Fine line and firmness tip: delivers RF to the upper dermis to strengthen surface firmness. For thin skin, fine lines and general loss of firmness.
Redness and acne tip: selectively destroys abnormal vessels and stimulates the sebaceous glands selectively. For facial redness, chronic acne and vascular melasma.
Potenza gives the greatest improvement for skin troubled by enlarged pores and uneven texture, thin skin with many fine lines, and those for whom the discomfort of skin booster injections is a burden.
Enlarged pores, acne scars and uneven texture: it smooths uneven skin and induces regeneration in depressed areas.
Thin skin with fine lines and reduced firmness: it raises the density of the dermis to restore firmness and refine fine lines — suitable as anti-ageing care.
Where skin booster discomfort or bruising is a burden: combining the pumping tip delivers regenerative solutions such as Juvelook or salmon DNA into the dermis with far less discomfort than direct injection.
Given the mechanism of skin regeneration, we usually recommend three to five or more sessions at intervals of three to four weeks; the redness that follows settles within one to three days.
On the day there can be some warmth and redness, mostly resolving naturally within one to three days.
Where the pumping tip is used, fine bleeding or slight bruising can accompany it.
Because of the RF stimulation, the skin can feel somewhat dry for about a week afterwards, so please apply moisturiser and regenerative ointment generously and focus on soothing care.
Depending on skin type, small bumps or an allergic response can appear temporarily, usually settling within a few days. If itching or irritation worsens, it is safer to come in for appropriate treatment.
Q1. Is Potenza painful?
A. Anaesthetic cream is applied thoroughly for 20 to 30 minutes beforehand. Some stinging and warmth can be felt, but the burden is lower than with a typical scar laser or direct injection.
Q2. How does it differ from Fraxel or Ulthera?
A. Fraxel resurfaces or stimulates the epidermis, so recovery is longer; Potenza delivers energy to the dermis while reducing surface damage. Where Ulthera and InMode focus on deep cheek fat and contour lifting, Potenza specialises in pores, scars, firmness and texture at the surface.
Q3. Can I wash my face or wear makeup the same day?
A. On the day, while the microneedle channels are closing, we recommend avoiding washing and makeup and using only light hydrating care. Light washing, makeup and sunscreen are possible from the following day.
Enlarged pores, declining texture and fine lines are not simply a surface matter; declining collagen in the dermis and weakening of the skin's elastic structure act together.
Potenza is a precise treatment option that induces regeneration in the dermis through its various tips and RF energy, while improving the efficiency of solution delivery.
Since skin thickness, pore depth and areas of concern differ for everyone, choosing the tips and planning the treatment through full consultation is the first step toward healthy, natural improvement.
